Georges Bataille has to be one of the most interesting figures on the fringes of both literature and philosophy. He was an inspiration for Foucault and Derrida, and shunned by Sartre (which is quite the honor in my book). His work is rich of ideas, transgressions, original thinking and tells of a burning flame that never quite found its way to set itself free.
When «Systematische Offenheit» asked me to write an article for them, I did not hesitate to write about Georges Bataille’s thinking in the context of AI. What can we learn from one of the most visionary thinkers of French origin, who cared deeply about the conflicted human soul? A conception of which can only described by the phrase «grande profundum est ipse homo.«
